Avid Competitions Terms

Last updated:

These Terms explain your account, our responsibilities and the documents that apply when you use Avid Competitions. Nothing in them limits your statutory rights.

Who we are and how to contact us

Avid Competitions is operated by Avid TCG LTD, registered in England and Wales with company number 17113622. Our registered office is 106 Moston Lane East, Manchester, M40 3QL, United Kingdom. Our VAT number is GB516293294.

In these documents, Avid, we and us mean that business. You can use Contact or email [email protected] for help, complaints and account, entry, payment or prize questions. You do not need to sign in to contact us.

Your agreement and the applicable documents

These Terms govern your account and use of the service. The Competition Rules, Credits Policy and Free Entry instructions form part of them. Read those documents before participating. Each competition also displays its particular prize, entry price, question, limit, capacity and closing arrangements. Separate promotional terms apply when you use an offer. If you apply to or join the affiliate programme, its separate Affiliate Programme Terms also apply to those activities.

Agreeing during account setup records your account agreement. It does not buy Credits or enter a competition. Each Credit purchase has its own purchase confirmation and the purchase request described in the Credits Policy. An entry takes effect only when accepted by the platform.

Specific competition and offer conditions supplement these shared rules. We will not use a later document change or correction to remove an existing right or silently change the terms of a purchase or accepted entry. Your statutory rights take priority over conflicting wording.

Our Privacy notice explains personal information use. Reading it or accepting these Terms is not consent to all processing, newsletter marketing or optional tracking.

Your account and eligibility

An Avid account is free. To participate you must be 18 or over, live in England, Scotland or Wales and complete the required account agreement and eligibility declaration. A Credit purchase is not required to enter by post. Keep your information accurate, including your registered email and any Registered address required for the activity you choose.

Use an account you control. Protect your email and sign-in access, do not share sign-in codes, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use or an incorrect account record. Our eligibility declaration is a self-declaration; completing it does not mean Avid has independently verified your age or residence.

You may stop participating at any time. Contact us about ending access or resolving remaining purchases, balances, entries or prizes. Requests about your personal information are handled under the Privacy notice and applicable law; closing access does not automatically erase records we need to retain lawfully.

Entries, Credits and prizes

You can fund eligible online entries with Credits and, where available, promotional entries. You can also enter for free by ordinary post using the Free Entry instructions; you pay your own postage. Both routes share the competition's answer rules, aggregate entry limits and prize mechanics.

Check your answer, quantity and funding before submitting. A valid wrong answer can be accepted and spends its funding but cannot win. A rejected entry spends neither Credits nor promotional entries. Buying a Credit pack does not itself enter you or guarantee a prize.

The Competition Rules explain closing, Main draws, Instant Wins, unawarded outcomes, claims and cancellation. The Credits Policy explains one-off pack purchases, immediate availability, applicable cancellation and refund rights, reservations and payment disputes. A competition Credit return is different from a refund of money paid for a pack.

Fair use and account restrictions

Do not impersonate another person, supply deliberately misleading information, evade entry limits, manipulate entries or awards, exploit an error you know about, or interfere with the service or another person's access. Automated manipulation and attempts to bypass our security or entry rules are prohibited.

We may restrict new access or participation where reasonably necessary to protect accounts and the service, investigate credible misuse, address a serious breach or comply with law. We will consider the circumstances and use a proportionate response. Where we can do so safely and lawfully, we will explain the issue and consider relevant information you provide through Contact.

A bank dispute does not automatically block your account. Blocking does not itself confiscate a balance, erase entry or payment history, or cancel a recorded prize. Individual prize availability decisions follow the Competition Rules. A restriction does not remove your right to ask for assistance or a lawful remedy.

Content and changes to the service

Avid and its licensors retain their rights in the platform and its content. You may use it for your personal participation, carry out affiliate activities permitted by the Affiliate Programme Terms, and keep copies of the documents and confirmations that apply to you. Do not copy or exploit another person's protected content without permission.

You remain responsible for profile material you supply and must have the right to use it. You allow us to store and display it as needed to provide the account and its chosen public presentation. This is not an unrestricted right to use your material in advertising; separate marketing use requires its own lawful basis or permission.

We may make reasonable technical, security or legal changes and correct presentation errors. We will give appropriate notice of material changes affecting existing use. Changes do not authorise us to replace a promised prize, rewrite accepted entries or remove rights under an earlier purchase. Where a new account agreement is required, existing payment, prize and support matters can still be raised with us.

Responsibility when something goes wrong

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill and remain responsible for our contractual obligations. You are responsible for accurate submissions, reasonable account security and following the published entry instructions. Postal delivery and processing responsibilities are explained in Free Entry.

If an event outside our reasonable control disrupts the service, we will take reasonable steps to limit its effect and explain material consequences. That does not excuse our own avoidable failures or remove any remedy the law requires. An outage, cancellation or provider problem is not automatically your fault.

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Ordinary competition participation is for personal use. Affiliate activities expressly permitted by our separate Affiliate Programme Terms are governed by those terms; we do not otherwise agree to provide the service for business trading activities. Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Contact us if an entry, purchase, balance or prize appears wrong. We will review the relevant records and information and provide any justified correction or remedy. The ordinary automated Credit-return or promotional-entry rules do not make those your only possible legal remedies.

Complaints, law and courts

Send questions or complaints through Contact or [email protected]. Include a purchase, competition or entry reference if you have one and explain what happened. We will investigate reasonably and communicate our response. You do not have to use a particular form or give a reason to exercise an applicable statutory cancellation right.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you retain the mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. You may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live where the law gives you that right. Nothing requires compulsory arbitration or removes your lawful access to the courts.
