You do not need to buy Credits to enter an Avid competition. Send an ordinary postal entry following these instructions. You pay the normal postage; Avid charges no postal-entry fee.
Before you post
You must be 18 or over, live in England, Scotland or Wales and have an Avid account. Complete the required account agreement and eligibility declaration before posting. Use the exact email registered on that account, and keep access to it. Buying Credits is not required.
Check the competition's question, answer choices, reference, per-account limit, capacity and closing format. The reference appears above its description. The same account restrictions, completed setup, total entry limits and answer rules apply to both routes.
What to include
Write the following clearly on your postal entry so we can identify your account, the competition and your chosen answer. You do not need to include a date of birth, phone number, identity document or payment details.
- The exact email address registered on your Avid account.
- The competition reference shown above the competition description.
- Your clear answer to that competition's question, matching one of its offered choices.
Address and postage
Send each entry as a separately posted, correctly prepaid item by ordinary First Class or Second Class post to:
Avid Competitions, 106 Moston Lane East, Manchester, M40 3QL, United Kingdom
Use the correct ordinary postage for your item. We do not pay postage-due charges. You do not have to buy tracked, signed-for or special delivery. Each separately prepaid item can produce at most one entry: enclosing multiple slips or repeating a competition reference in one item does not multiply it. Send a separate item for each additional entry, within the competition's account limit.
Delivery, closing and processing
Allow enough time for ordinary postal delivery. An item must arrive while the competition can still accept entries. Posting before closure is not an entitlement to an entry, and proof of posting does not reserve capacity. All competitions can fill; some can close before a fixed date or at the end of a triggered countdown. Read the particular closing format before posting.
We check received items and submit valid entries to the competition. The competition must still be open, with places available and room within your account limit, when the entry is accepted. We do not backdate entries, reserve places for items in transit or reorder accepted entries based on when an item was posted.
You are responsible for preparation, correct postage and allowing normal delivery time. We remain responsible for handling received mail with reasonable care. These conditions do not excuse our own processing failures or remove a remedy required by law. Contact us if you believe an item received in time was mishandled; we will review the circumstances rather than assume every postal problem is yours.
Valid and invalid entries
An item is invalid if required information is missing, unreadable, conflicting or cannot be matched clearly to one registered account, competition and offered answer. Conflicting email addresses, competition references or answers are invalid. We will not guess your identity or answer, split a bundle into multiple entries or make an eligibility declaration on your behalf.
A clear offered answer that is wrong is a valid losing entry if otherwise accepted. It counts towards your limit and capacity, but cannot win. Postal entries use no Credits or promotional entries. Acceptance appears in your account history.
Accepted postal entries participate in the Main draw and any Instant Wins on the same basis as online entries. Instant winning positions follow the order in which entries are accepted, not the postmark. The Competition Rules explain hidden winning positions, prizes left unawarded, no eligible Main winner, claims and cancellations. Check your account for accepted entries and prizes.
Help with postal entry
