Credits Policy

Last updated:

This policy covers buying and spending Avid Credits, competition cancellations and refunds. The rules shown for each competition and any separate promotional terms also apply. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights.

Your Credit-pack order

Avid TCG LTD, trading as Avid Competitions, provides the prepaid service described in this policy. Our Terms also apply. Competition Rules apply when you enter a competition.

We accept your order when we record and give you your personal order confirmation before Checkout. Payment is still required before Credits become available. If you leave Checkout without paying or it expires unpaid, you owe nothing for that order and no Credits are supplied.

Before Checkout, you expressly agree to this policy and ask us to make Credits available as soon as payment completes, including later Credit-pack purchases under the same terms. Choosing not to see the policy prompt again changes only its presentation. You can review purchase information and turn the prompt back on from the Credits page. If the purchase terms change in a way that needs your agreement, we'll ask again.

Your order confirmation records the pack, price, terms and immediate-availability request. We show it before you continue to payment and keep an unchanged copy in your Purchases, where you can read or download it. It confirms your order; it is not a receipt for payment.

What Credits are

Avid Credits are prepaid units you use for eligible online competition entries on Avid Competitions. They are not a loan, cash or a payment method for other businesses. Buying Credits does not itself enter you into a competition or guarantee a prize.

Credits belong to the account that receives them. You cannot transfer, sell, gift or trade them, or withdraw them as cash. You can still receive a refund or other remedy where the law requires it or we agree to provide one.

Buying and receiving Credits

Each available pack shows its price in pounds sterling and the number of Credits you receive. Packs and offers can have different prices per Credit; one Credit does not mean £1. Check the pack and total before confirming payment. Changes to later offers do not change the pack you have already bought.

Each pack is a one-off purchase, with no automatic top-ups or recurring payments. Your Credits become available once payment is confirmed and the purchase is complete.

An abandoned, pending or unsuccessful payment does not by itself provide Credits. If you paid but your Credits have not appeared, check Purchase history in your dashboard and contact us with the purchase reference. Please check the original purchase before trying to pay again.

Using your balance

Each competition shows its Credit price per entry. Before entering, check your answer, quantity and total cost. You must meet the competition's eligibility rules and entry limits, and it must still be open with places available.

Credits are spent when an entry is accepted. Entries with an incorrect answer still cost Credits or promotional entries, but cannot win. Credits are not returned simply because you did not win or the competition had no eligible winner. If your entry is not accepted, neither Credits nor promotional entries are spent.

Your dashboard shows your available Credits and activity. Purchased Credits do not currently expire. An expiry shown for an unfinished payment attempt does not expire Credits already on your account.

You can enter for free by post without buying Credits. Follow the Free Entry instructions and Competition Rules, including the closing conditions and ordinary postage requirements.

Promotional entries are different

One promotional entry covers one eligible competition entry, whatever the Credit price. It is not a Credit and cannot be converted into Credits or cash. You can choose to use available promotional entries alongside Credits. You'll see how many of each will be spent before you enter.

Separate promotion terms explain eligibility, qualification and expiry. Your dashboard shows the offer and dates that apply to you. Spent promotional entries are not restored, including if a competition is cancelled. Unused promotional entries may expire under their offer's terms. Purchased Credits are not subject to that promotional expiry.

If Avid cancels a competition

If Avid cancels a competition, we return the Credits you spent on its entries to your Avid balance. This does not automatically refund the money paid for a Credit pack. Promotional entries remain spent. For example, if you used two promotional entries and four Credits, you receive four Credits back.

The cancellation does not erase your entry history or Instant Wins already recorded. Any additional remedy required by law remains available.

Refund requests and your rights

Credits are not available for routine cash withdrawal. You have the cancellation rights explained below. Outside those rights, we may consider a discretionary full or partial refund based on the circumstances and the terms that applied.

Where statutory distance-contract cancellation rights apply, the normal period is 14 days after the day the contract was made. The law can extend that period where required information was not provided. Merely seeing Credits in your balance does not, by itself, mean you have waived an applicable cancellation right. We will only rely on a cancellation exception or lawful deduction where its requirements are met.

If a service or purchase has not been supplied as required by law, you may also have a right to correction, repeat performance, a price reduction or a refund, depending on the circumstances. These rights are separate from a discretionary change-of-mind request and are not determined simply by your remaining balance.

Use Request refund on the relevant completed purchase in Purchase history, or contact us. To exercise a statutory cancellation right, any clear statement that you wish to cancel is sufficient; you do not have to use our form or justify a change of mind. Include your account email and purchase reference if available so we can identify the purchase. Contact remains available if you cannot sign in or the dashboard action is unavailable.

Where money is due back, we use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise or the law permits another method. We do not charge a refund fee and will comply with applicable statutory repayment periods. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to display a processed refund.

Credits reserved during review

A refund request can put some of your available Credits on hold while we review it. You'll see the amount before submitting. These Credits remain visible but cannot be spent. Your Credits share one balance, so the hold can include Credits from other packs, not just the purchase being reviewed.

We cannot hold more than your available balance or the Credits still associated with the purchase under review. Buying more Credits does not increase an existing hold. If we reopen a case later, a new hold may apply and will be shown in the case details.

After a refund or confirmed payment reversal, we adjust your Credits using the original pack, payment and any earlier adjustments. We only remove Credits held for that case. If there aren't enough, we don't automatically make your balance negative or take future top-ups. We release any unused held Credits when the case can be closed. This may take longer if we are still checking the payment outcome.

Opening a case, making an adjustment or refunding a pack does not automatically erase accepted entries, results or prizes. A reservation is not a finding that you have done anything wrong, and does not remove your right to seek a lawful remedy.

Payment disputes, restrictions and mistakes

If you do not recognise a payment, contact us and your bank or payment provider promptly. Our review process does not replace any rights you have through them. Please tell us about an existing refund or dispute so the same payment outcome can be handled accurately. A bank dispute does not automatically block your account.

An account restriction can prevent new purchases or participation. Blocking an account does not by itself delete its Credit history or cancel existing prizes. Separate prize decisions follow the applicable competition rules. Contact Avid if a restriction affects a balance or prize you need help with.

If a purchase, debit or balance looks wrong, contact us with the relevant reference and what you expected to happen. We will investigate the recorded payment and activity and make any justified correction or required remedy. Reporting a problem does not guarantee a particular outcome or give permission to use Credits you know were added in error.

Policy changes and help

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service, explain it more clearly or meet legal requirements. The updated date identifies the current document. An update does not rewrite an earlier purchase or remove rights you already have. Material changes affecting existing purchases must be applied lawfully and communicated appropriately.

The rules shown for each competition explain its prizes and entry conditions; separate promotional terms govern promotional offers. If wording elsewhere conflicts with a statutory right, that right continues to apply.

Contact Avid if you need help with a purchase, this policy or how information supplied with an enquiry is handled.

Immediate availability and cancellation

Credit packs provide a prepaid Avid service. You normally have 14 days after the day the contract is made to cancel. We make Credits available following successful payment because you expressly asked us to start during that period. Adding Credits to your balance does not, by itself, remove your cancellation right or mean the service has been fully performed.

If you cancel after using the service, you may need to pay a lawful amount proportionate to what was actually provided before cancellation, where the required request and information conditions have been met. Any deduction is based on the service actually provided. We do not treat the whole purchase price as non-refundable simply because Credits became available, or assume that your remaining balance shows which pack you used.

These rules do not reduce your rights where the service is faulty, not as described or otherwise falls short of the law. Required refunds are made within the applicable statutory period; a valid cancellation is not delayed merely while we consider whether to approve it.

Tell us clearly that you wish to cancel through Contact or by email to [email protected]. You do not need to give a reason or use a particular form. You may use the model form below if you prefer.
